‘ODIL’
Open Printing Tool

Participation to an innovation exhibition: ‘J’imagine demain’ (I imagine tomorrow) at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie-La Villette, EnsAD, 2017/2018

I have first defined a research question: how can open-source generate progress when applied to products?
I explored the concept of an open printer to demonstrate the possibilites that can be generated with this way of designing and producing. Durability then becomes an important value.

The printer is composed of replaceable and standardised parts and tools.

Display during the exhibition at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie-La Villette.

An online platform allows users to share files, pdfs and videos to allow each others to build, repare or improve the printer. Everything is standardised to allow modularity and sharing.
